22 ‘brokers’ jailed in Dhaka

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) mobile court today jailed twenty-two alleged members of multiple broker gangs in Dhaka.

The mobile court of Rab-2 headed by Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam of Rab headquarters, arrested 12 persons during a raid at Dhaka Pongu Hospital for allegedly cheating patients and forcing them to get admitted in different private hospitals with low quality service, a press release says.

On the other hand 10 others were held from Agargaon passport office for unauthorised passport brokering, Sarwoer Alam told The Daily Star.

The brokers were held along with fake documents and seals from the premises of the passport office at Agargaon during raid, the press release also said.
