4 of a family found dead in Cox’s Bazar

Four members of a Hindu family were found dead in a house in Jadiram Pahar area of Cox’s Bazar town this evening.

Deceased were identified as Sumon Chowdhury, 35, his wife Baby Chowdhury, 28, and two daughters --Obontika Chowdhury, 8, and Joty Chowdhury,3, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports quoting police. 

Informed by locals, police entered the room after breaking open the door around 7:00pm and found the hanging body of Sumon with a ceiling fan and three others lying on a bed in the room, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station.

“Sumon might have committed suicide after killing his wife and two daughters,” said the OC, adding that they are looking into the matter.
